QA Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace (QCF)The "Health and Safety in the Workplace" course is designed to educate learners about health and safety in the workplace. The qualification covers understanding risk assessment, identifying and controlling the risks from common workplace hazards, the legal requirements related to health and safety in the workplace and what to do in response to accidents and incidents at work. This course is registered on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) regulated by Ofqual. The aim of the qualification is to enable learners to develop their health and safety awareness. It helps the student build an understanding of health and safety in the workplace and the role that everyone plays in ensuring the workplace is a safe working environment. This qualification is designed for all employees to raise their awareness of health and safety in the workplace, and could be used for new employee induction, or for those with supervisory roles to increase their understanding of the subjects. Learners who achieve the QA Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the
Workplace may progress via qualifications such as the Level 3
Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace, or Level 4 Award in
Health and Safety in the Workplace, IOSH Managing Safely, or
NEBOSH Certificates. Course contentsThe Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace course covers:
Course Duration6 hours tuition time (minimum) not including breaks (10 guided learning hours) typically delivered over 1 day. CertificationCertificates of competence will be issued following successful completion of this course by the learners. Assessment of the learners skills will be by continuous assessment by the trainer/assessor, and a multiple choice assessments of 30 questions set by Qualsafe Awards as our awarding organisation. The certificate does not have a period of validity, but it is recommended that the course be re-taken every few years to keep up to date with changes in legislation and ensure good practice is followed in the key subject areas. It is recommended that learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy
and numeracy (or equivalent) before commencing the course. Re-QualificationLearners may re-qualify their Health and Safety in the Workplace qualification by attending another Health and Safety in the Workplace course at any time. Scheduled Courses and Booking
